(a) A Certificate of Occupancy shall be required for each building or structure whenever its use is changed from one occupancy class to another or for a part of a building or structure where its use is changed. The owner of the building or structure is required to obtain the Certificate of Occupancy in compliance with the Building Code. Approvals and inspections for all requested changes are required. A structure or building changed, in whole or in part, shall not be occupied until the Certificate of Occupancy has been issued by the Building Official.
(b) The owner or owner’s authorized representative shall make application and pay fees for the Certificate of Occupancy.
