To be eligible for appointment, the Building Official shall possess the experience required by the OBC and the RCO. He shall be knowledgeable regarding the quality and strength of building construction, on good practice in fire prevention, on the accepted requirements for safe exit facilities, and on the proper installation of plumbing and sanitary conditions of the occupants of buildings. He shall be in good health, physically capable of making the necessary examinations and inspections of buildings in course of construction. He shall not have any interest whatever, directly or indirectly, in the sale or manufacture of any material, process or device entering into or used in or in connection with building construction and no affiliation with contractors doing business within Summit County.
