(a) Any abandoned watercraft or outboard motor may be impounded by any law enforcement officer having jurisdiction over the water area where such abandoned watercraft or outboard motor is found.
(b) The owner of any impounded watercraft or outboard motor, if he is known or can be found, shall be notified either personally or by certified mail, and the owner shall be permitted to redeem such watercraft or outboard motor by payment of a storage fee plus the actual cost incurred in the removal of such watercraft or outboard motor.
(c) When the owner of such watercraft or outboard motor cannot be found, the impounded watercraft or outboard motor shall be held at the place of safe keeping for a period of time not less than ninety (90) days nor longer than six (6) months.
(d) Any watercraft or outboard motor unclaimed by the owner at the expiration of time set forth in subsection (c) hereof shall be disposed of by offering such watercraft or outboard motor for sale at public auction, advertised twice in a newspaper of general circulation within the County, and if there is no bid, then by its sale to a salvage dealer or by destroying such watercraft or outboard motor.
(e) All money received by reason of sale at public auction or to a salvage dealer shall be deposited in the general revenue fund of the impounding political subdivision.
