§ 150.06 SIGN PROXIMITY TO N.C. 184 AND N.C. 105.
   (A)   Attached signs located more than 300 feet from the right-of-way of N.C. 184 and N.C. 105.
      (1)   Shall not occupy more than 10% of the signable space on any one facade of a building with the maximum size of the sign(s) limited to 32 square feet.
      (2)   Window graphics, including stained glass lettering or logos shall not cover more than 10% of the total window area.
   (B)   Attached signs located within 300 feet of the right-of-way of N.C. 184 and 105.
      (1)   Attached signage on a principal or accessory structure shall not exceed one and one-half square feet of signage for each linear front foot of building frontage. Buildings located on corner lots shall be permitted additional signage in accordance with the same formula for the building’s frontage on the second street.
      (2)   In addition to the attached signage permitted in B(1) above, temporary signs, graphics, and logos shall be permitted in the window space, provided the total window signage does not exceed 25% of the total window area.
   (C)   Detached on-premises signs located on tracts of land which do not have frontage on N.C. 184 and 105, or signs which are not designed to be visible from N.C. 184 and 105.
      (1)   Size limitation. Maximum size 40 square feet square feet.
      (2)   Number permitted. Based upon the total road frontage of a single piece of property on each public road fronted:
         (a)   One to 200 feet: one sign; and
         (b)   Two hundred and one feet and up: one per street frontage, except one additional sign shall be permitted for each separate entrance not to exceed two signs.
      (3)   Height. No sign shall exceed 12 feet in height, measured from the adjacent road grade to the uppermost point of the sign or sign structure.
   (D)   Detached on-premises signs, located on tracts of land which have frontage on N.C. 184 and N.C. 105, or signs which are designated to be visible from N.C. 184 and N.C. 105.
      (1)   Size limitation. The total area of each sign shall not exceed 150 square feet.
      (2)   Number of signs permitted. Based upon the street frontage of a single lot, the following number of signs shall be permitted:
         (a)   One hundred to 200 feet of street frontage: one sign; and
         (b)   More than 200 feet of street frontage: one sign, and one additional sign shall be permitted provided the second sign shall not be located closer than 50 feet from any other detached sign.
      (3)   Height. Detached signs shall not exceed the following heights as measured from the base of the sign to the uppermost point of the sign or sign structure:
         (a)   Signs 50 square feet in size or less: 15 feet; and
         (b)   Signs greater than 50 square feet in size: 20 feet.
