5-1-8: BOARD OF POLICE COMMISSIONERS:
   A.   Created: In accordance with the provisions of division 2.1 of article 10 of the Illinois municipal code, being 65 Illinois Compiled Statutes 5/10-2.1-1 et seq., there is hereby established a board of police commissioners, which shall consist of three (3) members to be appointed by the village president with the consent of the board of trustees.
   B.   Terms: One member of the board of police commissioners shall be appointed to serve until the end of the current municipal year on the effective date hereof; one member shall be appointed to serve until the end of the municipal year next ensuing; and the third member shall be appointed to serve until the end of the municipal year second next ensuing. All subsequent appointments shall be for a period of three (3) years.
   C.   Statutory Provisions: The board of police commissioners shall be governed by the provisions of division 2.1 of article 10 of the Illinois municipal code.
   D.   Compensation: The compensation, if any, of members of the board of police commissioners, of the village of Sugar Grove shall be established by the board of trustees of the village, in the annual appropriation ordinance.
   E.   Rules: The board of police commissioners may make such rules to carry out the provisions of this chapter and division 2.1 of the Illinois municipal code and to govern the appointments and removals in accordance with the provisions of said division 2.1.
