1-4-4: COMPLIANCE TICKETS:
   A.   Definitions:
    COMPLAINT: A verified written statement other than an information or an indictment, presented to a court, which charges the commission of an offense.
   COMPLIANCE TICKET: An administrative form stating forth the notice of an ordinance violation.
   NOTICE TO APPEAR (NTA): A verified written statement other than a complaint and information or an indictment, presented to a court, which charges the commission of an offense and requires the defendant to appear in court.
   B.   Compliance Tickets: Any person found in violation of any ordinance of the Village can be issued a compliance ticket in lieu of a "complaint" or "notice to appear" (NTA). (Ord. 653, 1-20-1997)
      1.   When a compliance ticket is issued, the defendant may appear at the Sugar Grove Police Department or mail in the required fee (as such fee [or fees] is set, from time to time by resolution of the Board of Trustees of the Village) within fourteen (14) days from the date issued. (Ord. 695, 6-16-1998)
      2.   If the fee is not paid within fourteen (14) days, an ordinance complaint or NTA will be issued subjecting the defendant to trial in Circuit Court including payment of a fine and court costs in accordance with subsection C of this Section.
   C.   Ordinance Violations; Penalty: Any person found in violation of any ordinance other than a parking ordinance or traffic ordinance of the Village shall be subject to a fine of not less than one hundred dollars ($100.00) plus court costs and no more than seven hundred fifty dollars ($750.00) plus court costs for each occurrence. Each day that a violation of any ordinance shall occur shall be considered a separate offense incurring a separate fine plus court costs. (Ord. 653, 1-20-1997)
