(a) Any employee of the Village who is also a member of the Williams Co. Emergency Medical Services - Medic 3 or a member of the Stryker/Springfield Township Fire Dept. who is called to such service during his or her regular working hours with the Village shall be granted civic duty leave for each hour or portion thereof that the employee would have otherwise been working for the Village.
(b) Employees shall receive their regular hourly rate for each hour the employee is on civic duty leave and shall suffer no loss of benefits due to such absence from their normally assigned duties. If more than one (1) hour remains following the completion of such civic duty, the employee shall return to work as soon as possible and complete the remainder of his/her scheduled work shift. Civic leave shall not be applicable to any hours the employee was not already scheduled to be working for the Village.
