Each appointed, non-elected full-time Village employee shall be entitled to the following as paid holidays: the day before Christmas; Christmas Day; the day before New Year's Day; New Year's Day; Good Friday; Memorial Day; Fourth of July; Labor Day; Thanksgiving Day; day after Thanksgiving and the employee's birthday. If the birthday falls on the weekend or on a holiday, the employee will then take the first work day following. The aforementioned employee will be paid their straight hourly rate at eight hours pay for the listed days. In the event the employee is required to work on the recognized holiday, he may either receive twice his regular pay rate for the hours worked, or may be entitled to an equal amount of the time of absence at a later date mutually agreeable to the employee and the Council. In no event shall the employee be entitled to accumulate stated holiday time at the rate of more than two successive days.
