(a) That there is hereby created within the Police Department an auxiliary police unit.
(b) The Mayor shall be the executive head of the unit created hereunder and shall make all appointments and removals of auxiliary police officers upon the recommendation of the Chief of Police.
(c) The Mayor shall prescribe the rules and regulations for the organization, control, training, administration and conduct of the auxiliary police unit.
(d) The Chief of Police shall have the exclusive control of the stationing and transferring of all auxiliary police officers subject to such general rules and regulations as prescribed by the Mayor.
(e) As compensation for their services, auxiliary police officers shall be paid one dollar ($1.00) annually. (Ord. 1997-19. Passed 9-9-97.)
