(a) The Fire Chief of the City of Struthers is hereby designated in accordance with Section 9.60 of the Ohio Revised Code to authorize the rendering of such fire and explosion investigative services, to other subdivisions without a contract subject to review by the Mayor or Struthers City Council.
(b) The Chief of Police of the Struthers Police Department is hereby designated in accordance with Section 737.041 of the Ohio Revised Code to authorize the rendering of such investigative services to other subdivisions without a contract subject to review by the Mayor or Struthers City Council.
(c) Chapter 2744 of the Ohio Revised Code (Political Subdivisions Tort Liability), insofar as it applies to the operation of fire departments, shall apply to the City of Struthers and the members of the Fire Department when such members are rendering fire and explosion investigative services, pursuant to Section 9.60 of the Ohio Revised Code.
(d) Chapter 2744 of the Ohio Revised Code (Political Subdivisions Tort Liability), insofar as it applies to the operation of fire departments, shall apply to the City of Struthers and the sworn officers of its Police Department when such members are rendering investigative services pursuant to Section 737.041 of the Ohio Revised Code.
(e) The Chiefs of the Fire and Police Departments shall have the authority to appoint the men and women in their respective departments to the Metro ASF. However, all persons who are appointed shall understand that the appointment is voluntary in nature, and that the time devoted to the Metro ASF will not be compensated for by either of the City of Struthers or by the Metro ASF.
(f) Sworn officers of the City of Struthers, while acting outside the City limits of Struthers, may be entitled to participate in any pension fund established by the City to the same extent as while acting within the City of Struthers. Such members shall be entitled to all the rights of Sections 4123.01-4123.96 of the Ohio Revised Code to the same extent as while performing services within the City of Struthers.
