The imposition of any penalty shall not preclude the Law Director from instituting an appropriate proceeding in a court of proper jurisdiction to prevent an unlawful repair or maintenance; to restrain, correct or abate a violation; to prevent the occupancy of buildings, structure or premises; or to require compliance with the provisions of this chapter or other applicable laws, ordinances, rules or regulations, or orders or determinations of the Safety Service Director or other designated official.
If any section or clause in this chapter shall be declared invalid for any reason, such decision shall in no way affect the remaining portions of this chapter, which shall remain in full force and effect.
