For the purpose of establishing the minimum regulations governing the safeguarding of life and property from the hazards of fire and explosion arising from the storage, handling, and use of hazardous substances, materials and devices; and from conditions hazardous to life or property in the use or occupancy of buildings or premises; there is hereby adopted the international fire code, 2012, as published by the International Code Council, Inc., which shall be henceforth known as the international fire code of the village of Streamwood, Illinois, together with all appendices, except such portions thereof as are hereinafter expressly deleted, modified, or amended.
While the international fire code, 2018, and all appendices have hereinabove been adopted, the exceptions in section 6-2-5 of this chapter (consisting of certain deletions and changes) shall control wherever the said exceptions are applicable or are in conflict with certain other provisions of said international fire code, 2018.
