(A) General speed limit. As provided in G.S. § 20-141(b)(1), no person may drive a vehicle on a street or in a public vehicular area in excess of 35 mph unless a different speed is established by this schedule.

(B) Speed limits.
(1) Whenever a speed limit has been established and appropriate traffic-control devices have been installed in accordance with division (B)(2) below, no person may operate a vehicle on any street in excess of the posted speed.
(2) The following speed limits shall be applicable to the following streets as indicated, and the Administrator shall install appropriate traffic-control devices clearly indicating the established speed limit.

(C) Train speed limits.
(1) Locomotives or trains shall not operate in excess of 35 mph on any section of track located within the municipal boundaries.
(2) Notice of this speed limit established herein for trains shall be posted on the approaches of the tracks to the municipal boundaries.
