(A) The Building Department shall inspect all heating, ventilating or air conditioning equipment installed or altered, and shall require that it conform to the standards and specifications applicable thereto and adopted as, aforesaid, and upon completion of the installation or alteration in compliance with the standards and specifications, shall immediately issue a certificate of inspection, covering the installation or alteration.
(B) The Building Department is hereby empowered to reinspect any heating, ventilating or air conditioning equipment, and when the equipment is found to be unsafe to life or property shall notify the person owning, using or operating same to place the same in a safe and secure condition and in compliance with the standards and specifications described herein within the time as the Building Department shall consider just and reasonable.
(C) Upon refusal or willful failure to comply with the requirements of the notifications, in addition to the penalties otherwise provided herein, the Building Department may order and compel the cutting off and stopping of the heating, ventilating and air conditioning equipment until the heating, ventilating or air conditioning equipment has been placed in a safe and secure condition and in compliance with the standards and specifications referred to herein.
(D) No inspection fee shall be charged for the reinspection, but in case it becomes necessary to replace the heating, ventilating or air conditioning equipment on account of defects disclosed by the reinspection, a permit therefor shall be obtained and an inspection fee paid, as provided for in § 150.158.
