§ 150.137 FIRE DOORS.
   (A)   Fire doors shall be installed in all new and existing construction as described below.
      (1)   Multi-family dwellings. Fire doors of the self-closing type will be installed in corridors or hallways so as to prevent the horizontal or vertical spread of fire or smoke to stairwells, causing a life hazard to the people on upper floors when stairwells are used as an exit.
      (2)   Commercial and industrial property. Automatic fire doors will be installed in all new commercial or industrial property when a fire wall in that building is necessary and/or the same business is occupying both sections. A business acquiring adjacent property and breaching the walls connecting the two buildings will have automatic fire doors as approved by the Fire Prevention Bureau.
   (B)   The standards set forth by NFP Fire Code, 2012 Edition, will be followed.
