§ 91.31 REDEMPTION OF IMPOUNDED DOGS AND CATS.
   (A)   Dogs. The Director of Public Safety, or any person designated by him or her, shall promptly notify the owner of any dog so impounded, if the same can be ascertained, and the owner may redeem the dog; provided, the dog exhibits no evidence of disease, within five days from the time of its capture by providing proof of rabies inoculation and paying the license fee or fine as proved herein, together with the sum of $5 per day for the day for the cost of keeping the dog, plus the sum of $5 for each dog so redeemed as the cost of capturing the dog.
   (B)   Cats. The Director of Public Safety, or any person designated by him or her, shall promptly notify the owner of any cat so impounded, if the same can be ascertained, and the owner may redeem the cat; provided, the cat exhibits no evidence of disease, within five days from the time of its capture by providing proof of rabies inoculation and paying the license fee or fine as provided herein, together with the sum of $5 per day for the cost of keeping the cat, plus the sum of $5 for each cat so redeemed as the cost of capturing the cat.
