§ 73.36 USE PROHIBITED AND REGULATED.
   (A)   No motor scooter shall be driven upon any streets, roads or highways within the village’s corporate limits.
   (B)   No motorized scooter shall be driven upon any streets, roads or highways within the village’s corporate limits unless the vehicles are titled and registered with the Secretary of Illinois State, the drivers are licensed and the vehicles and owners or drivers are in compliance with the Illinois Vehicle Code.
   (C)   To the extent that the state permits the operation of motorized scooters upon state streets, roads and highways, then consistent with state regulation, the village shall require of any owner or driver of the vehicle a valid state driver’s license and documented evidence of title for and state registration of the vehicle, and the owner or driver shall comply with all applicable rules of the road promulgated by the state and the village. Failure of the owner or driver to provide the information to any village police officer shall subject the owner or driver of the vehicle to a citation for violation of the village code as provided in § 73.99, and of applicable provisions of the Illinois Vehicle Code.
   (D)   In the event that state statute or the Secretary of Illinois State prohibits the operation of motorized scooters or motor scooters on streets, roads and highways, the village’s police officers may issue citations for any violations as permitted by law.
