§ 52.40 REQUIRED; UPGRADING.
   (A)   (1)   All premises using the village water supply must be equipped with an adequate water meter and an exterior reading device, commonly called a “water mite”, furnished by the village, but paid for by the consumer.
      (2)   Before installation of the devices described in division (A)(1) above, a flat rate may be charged.
      (3)   Before occupancy, the devices described in division (A)(1) above shall be installed or application made for the water service at the flat rate of charge until the devices can be installed or no water shall be furnished the premises.

   (B)   (1)   Upon the sale of property located within the corporate boundaries of the village and prior to issuance of the village transfer stamps, the water meter at and upon the premises shall be upgraded to a water meter as required by the village.
      (2)   The cost of the upgrade of the water meter shall that amount set by the village and shall be paid by the seller of the premises, the cost described herein shall be set forth in the village fee schedule and may be amended from time to time by the village.
