A. Control, Repair: All hydrants shall be under the control of and shall be kept in repair by the Watermaster, and in case of fire, the Fire Department, and such others as the Mayor may authorize, shall have free access to said hydrants. No unauthorized person shall open or operate any fire hydrant or attempt to draw water therefrom.
B. Injury Prohibited: It shall be unlawful for any person wilfully or carelessly to run a vehicle against a fire hydrant, or otherwise wilfully or carelessly injure the same. It shall be unlawful for any person to drive with any vehicle over or across hose when laid for the purpose of extinguishing fire or other useful purpose. (Ord. 1-80, 2-4-1980; amd. 2017 Code)
