8-1-5: RATES, FEES AND DEPOSITS:
   A.   Set By Resolution: The rates and connection fees for water service from the Town water system shall be set from time to time by resolution enacted by the Town Council. The Town Council may, from time to time, enact rules for levying, billing, guaranteeing and collecting charges for water service and all other rules necessary for the management and control of the water system.
   B.   Special Rates: The Town Council may from time to time set by agreement or resolution, special rates and conditions for users using exceptionally large amounts of water service, or making use thereof under exceptional circumstances, upon such terms and conditions as they may deem proper.
   C.   Deposit Required: All persons owning or leasing a house receiving water service in the Town shall deposit with the Water Department the guarantee payment as a security deposit for the nonpayment of costs incurred as a result of the Town providing water service to that resident. The security deposit shall be in the amount of three hundred dollars ($300.00) and shall bear no interest to the depositor. This amount is due and payable before water service is commenced or recommended in the case of prior water shutoff. (Ord. 1-80, 2-4-1980; amd. 2017 Code)
   D.   Reconnection Fee: If a resident's water service is disconnected and then reconnected because of nonpayment, or disconnected for convenience sake, a fee as established by the Town Council shall be paid to the Water Department for that reconnection. (Ord. 84-3, 2-7-1984; amd. 2017 Code)
