§ 90.99 PENALTY.
   (A)    Criminal Penalties. Violation of the provisions of this chapter or failure to comply with any of its requirements shall constitute a misdemeanor. Any person who violates this chapter or fails to comply with any of its requirements shall, upon conviction thereof, be fined not less than $25 nor more than $100, or imprisonment for a period not to exceed 50 days, or both such fine and imprisonment for each day's violation. Each day during which the violation continues shall be deemed a separate offense for which a separate fine may be imposed. No additional notice other than the notice for the original offense shall be required to convict a person for violations resulting from a continuation of such offense.
   (B)   Civil Penalties. Any violation of this chapter shall subject the offender to a civil penalty in an amount equal to the minimum fine prescribed by division (A) of this section. The civil penalty may be recovered by the city in a civil action in the nature of a debt if the offender does not pay the penalty within 20 days after the offender has been cited for the violation. The civil penalty may be used as an alternative to or in conjunction with the criminal penalties authorized in division (A) of this section. No additional notice other than the notice for the original offense shall be required to impose these civil penalties for violations resulting from a continuation of the offense.
