(a) The Building Inspector shall conduct inspection of structures on the vacant property registry, for the purpose of ascertaining whether the structure (1) is being kept weather tight and secure from trespassers; (2) provides for safe entry to police offers and firefighters in times of emergency; (3) does not impede private and/or public efforts to rehabilitate and maintain surrounding properties; and (4) otherwise does not present a public hazard. Inspections shall occur as soon as practical after registration and at least annually thereafter for the purposes of this Section, a visual inspection of the exterior of the vacant structure.
(b) In the event entry into structures for the purpose of conducting inspections is deemed by the Building Inspector to be necessary, any such inspection shall not be conducted except in accordance with the provisions of Section 1727.10 of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Saint Marys.
