For the purpose of this chapter, "precious metal dealer" means any person, firm, partnership, association or corporation engaged in the business of purchasing personal property, except coins, made of or containing gold, silver, platinum or other precious metals for the purposes of reselling such items of personal property. A person who is registered as a pawnbroker under Ohio R.C. Chapter 4727 shall be exempt from the provisions of this chapter except that such pawnbroker shall be subject to the provisions of Section 739.05.
