No person shall install, use or maintain any pump or other appliance for the distribution or sale of gasoline or other oil products within the limits of any street or alley in the City except as hereinafter provided.
The restrictions of this section shall not apply to any such pump or appliance in actual use and operation at the time of the taking effect of this section. However, should any pump or appliance in use at the taking effect of this section cease to be so used for a period of thirty (30) days, unless the failure to use is occasioned by fire or the remodeling of a building in front of which such pump or appliance is located and then only for a reasonable length of time for the rebuilding or remodeling of such building, then and in that event the right to use and operate such pump or appliance shall terminate.
