4-1-3: BUILDING PERMITS AND FEES:
   A.   Permit Required: It shall be unlawful for any person to construct or demolish a building or portion thereof, or to move a building from one location to another, unless such person shall first have obtained a permit thereof from The City, in compliance with the provisions of the Building Code. For the purpose of this section, a building is any permanent or temporary structure used or intended for supporting or sheltering any use or occupancy including all garages, barns, sheds, fences, residential, commercial, educational, institutional or industrial uses and any accessory structures thereto. Permit is not required for equipment or personal items.
   B.   Materials: Siding, decks, windows or roofing replacement do not require a permit. Building Permit Fees: Building permit fees shall be as follows:

$2.00 per $1,000.00 or fraction thereof (maximum fee $200.00)
 
   C.   Federal and State governments and subdivisions thereof shall be exempt from the payment of these permit fees.
   D.   All homeowners are charged with the knowledge of their property line and boundaries. The owner must submit with any building permit an accurate description of the boundary lines for the property on which the improvement is sought to be built, and an accurate drawing of where the proposed improvement will be built within the boundaries of the individual's property. The City shall have no responsibility or obligation to determine proper boundary lines when reviewing any application. (1975 Code; amd. 2004 Code; Ord. 18-3, 11-12-2018; Ord. 21-1, 6-14-2021)
