Temporary storage containers, shipping containers, pods, or any other similar portable structure may be placed within the City Limits of Steamboat Rock subject to the following restrictions:
A. No wheels or undercarriage.
B. Placed and maintained perfectly level on a rodent proof foundation.
C. May not be used as a dwelling, living quarters, for camping, cooking, or any recreational use.
D. Must not be kept in the front setback area or designated parking areas, shall not impede traffic or pedestrians. No Temporary Portable Storage Container shall be placed or located in a circulation aisle/lane, fire access lane, public utility easement or public right-of-way, including streets, sidewalks, and parking strips.
D. Must be kept in good repair. A Temporary Portable Storage Container is not in a state of good repair when any of the following occur: incapable of being moved intact, has exposed rust, has scaling paint, unable to be secured against unauthorized entry, is not in compliance with health regulations, holes in the container exist due to damage/rot/ or rust, has been infested with vermin or other pests.
E. Any Temporary Portable Storage Container that has deteriorated and is not in state of good repair must be removed immediately. (Ord. 22-01, 3-14-2022)
