After the filing of the plat and schedule, the city council shall give at least ten (10) days' notice by posting in three (3) public places that the said plat and schedule are on file in the office of the city clerk, and that all objections thereto and to the prior proceedings, errors, irregularities or inequalities must be made in writing and filed with the city clerk, within twenty (20) days after the posting thereof, and the city council after the time specified in said notice has elapsed, shall hear and determine all objections thereto, and after making the necessary corrections, if any, shall then by resolution, make the special assessment as shown in the said plat and schedule as corrected and approved.
