9-5-7: LANDSCAPING AND SCREENING STANDARDS:
   A.   Purpose: The purpose of these landscaping requirements is to implement the goals of the general plan in regard to providing landscaping standards for landscaping that will capitalize in the town of Star Valley's mountain ranch forest character and identity while preserving natural resources, native plants and scarce water supplies.
   B.   Landscaping Requirements:
      1.   Landscape plan: Landscaping will be developed in accordance with approved plan.
      2.   Plants: Trees to be twenty four inch (24") box or fifteen (15) gallon, shrubs to be two (2) or five (5) gallon, ground covers to be four inches (4") to one gallon.
      3.   Hardscape: Will be local granite size one-fourth inch (1/4") to one-half inch (1/2") and boulders or rock or gravel that is the same color or compatible with the local native hardscapes.
      4.   Irrigation: All plants must be irrigated with a drip system.
      5.   Prohibited plants:
         a.   Willows: Any plant in the Salix family.
         b.   Poplar: Any plant in the poplar family except quaking aspen.
      6.   Turf: No grass, except buffalo grass or blue gamma grass.
   C.   Preservation Of Existing Vegetation: Preserve existing vegetation and incorporate native plants, low water need plant communities, and ecosystems into landscape design. Refer to the town of Star Valley preferred plant list.
   D.   Interpretation Of Landscaping Terms: Where necessary to interpret the precise meaning of technical landscaping terms used in this section, reference shall be made to "The American Standard For Nursery Stock", as published by the American Nursery and Landscape Association (ANLA), which document is hereby incorporated by reference as if set forth in its entirety herein.
