All outside open burning of any type of material must have a city burning permit or authorization to burn approved by the Fire Department and recorded at the dispatch center subject to the following provisions.
(A) The citizen shall call the County Emergency Communications Center and verify that burning is authorized and obtain a copy of this chapter.
(B) The burning permit is authorized for the day of issue only.
(C) Recipients of a burn permit shall notify the Fire Department dispatcher at the time burning is to commence and give name, street address, phone number at location of burn, and what is to be burned. Once the burning is completed and the fire extinguished, the recipient is to notify the dispatcher.
(D) Burning shall not be done within 25 feet of a structure or other combustible material.
(E) The area of burning must be cleared down to bare earth out to three feet around the outer edges.
(F) The fire must be continuously attended by an adult 18 years of age or older at all times.
(G) Recipients of burn permits and barrel burning are responsible for maintaining the fire in a safe and controlled condition.
