Any person responsible for a violation of this chapter shall, upon conviction in the city court, may be subject to a civil penalty of not less than $50, nor more than $500. Each day a violation occurs shall constitute a separate offense. In addition to the foregoing fines and penalties, the general manager of the city’s Water and Sewerage System shall discontinue the public water supply service at any premises upon which there is found to be a cross-connection, auxiliary intake, by-pass or inter-connection and service shall not be restored until such cross-connection, auxiliary intake, by-pass or inter-connection has been discontinued.
