The use of an air curtain destructor (also referred to as air curtain burner) to incinerate timber, stumps, and forest floor materials i.e., duff, is permitted once a burn permit is obtained from the Fire Department.
(A) Air curtain destructor is a unit consisting of a combustion chamber pit and air blower designed to establish a curtain of high velocity air above the fire burning in the pit so that the products of combustion must be forced up through the curtain before they reach the outside air.
(B) Priming materials used to facilitate such burning as wood waste and vegetation are limited to #1 or #2 grade fuel oil.
