(a) Adoption. The National Electric Code, 2017 Edition (cited as “NFPA-70-2014”), as published by the National Fire Protection Association, is hereby adopted by The City of Springfield, Ohio, as amended by the deletions and modifications described in this Section 1301.02, and is incorporated by reference as if fully rewritten in this Section 1301.02.
(b) Amendments.
(1) NFPA-70-2017 Section 90.4 is amended to read as follows: Enforcement. The City of Springfield, Ohio, is the authority having jurisdiction for purposes of enforcing this Code and shall be administered by the City Manager through the Chief Building Official appointed by the City Manager. This Code may require new products, constructions, or materials that may not yet be available at the time the Code is adopted. In such event, the authority having jurisdiction may permit the use of the products, constructions, or materials that comply with the most recent previous edition of this Code adopted by The City of Springfield, Ohio.
(2) NFPA-70-2017 Section 90.10 is adopted to read as follows:
Appeals. Appeals involving enforcement of matters relating to this Code shall be governed by Chapter 1315 of the Codified Ordinances.
