All officers and employees of the city who serve as jurors in any court are entitled to leave of absence from their respective duties. Any officer or employee on jury duty will receive the difference between his regular city salary and his fee as a juror. Such salary shall be based on the regular wage earned in effect at the time the officer or employee commences jury duty. The "difference" between the city salary and jury duty fee means the excess of city salary over jury duty fees.
