§ 32.11 CLASSIFICATION; CHARACTER INVESTIGATION.
   (A)   Part-time or temporary employees not specifically provided for in this chapter may be employed by the proper appointing authority, subject to the rules and regulations of the Civil Service Commission, upon the approval of the Finance Committee. The Finance Committee will, at the time approval is granted, also establish the rate of compensation to be paid to such employees.
   (B)   The assigned duties of each classified employee must be in conformance with the general job description for his classification provided by the appointing authority and adopted by the civil service commission.
   (C)   Where a continuing special duty assignment occupies more than 50% of any one classified employee's scheduled work hours a new classification fitting the circumstances will be created.
   (D)   Each prospective unclassified employee of the city may be required, at the discretion of the Mayor, to submit to a character investigation, which includes finger printing, by the Police Department. The report of this investigation shall be examined by the Mayor before the actual employment of such prospective employee. (Ord. 16-1972, passed 3-15-72; Am. Ord. 30-1974, passed 4-17-74)
