Every dwelling unit within the City shall have installed therein not less than one approved single station smoke detector, installed in such a location and in such a manner so that when activated the detector shall initiate an alarm which is audible in the sleeping rooms of that unit. All smoke detectors shall be maintained in working order at all times.
