§ 73.04 REQUIRED EQUIPMENT.
   Golf carts must have basic equipment supplied by the manufacturer, including a vehicle identification or serial number. Such equipment must include all safety devices as installed by the manufacturer. In addition, the following shall be installed and in working order for all carts approved for operation on public roadways:
   (A)   Headlamps. Two operating front headlamps (i.e., headlights) capable of discerning another vehicle, pedestrian or other object from a distance of 250 feet. Headlights shall be visible to other motorists for the same distance and adjusted so as not to interfere with the vision of oncoming drivers. Golf carts without headlamps shall not be allowed on the road at any time;
   (B)   Rear/ brake/turn lamps. Two operating rear lamps (i.e., tail lights), with brake lamps and turn signals visible for a distance of 250 feet. Hand signals alone are not sufficient for operation of carts;
   (C)   Triangle reflector. A reflective orange triangle reflector commonly used to indicate a low speed vehicle. These reflectors are commonly used on farm equipment and are approximately 12 inches in width and height. The reflector must be positioned on the rear of the cart and visible to other motorists. The reflector shall not be blocked from view by any passenger or load carried by the cart;
   (D)   Windshield. A windshield securely attached to the vehicle of sufficient construction to prevent flying debris from entering the passenger area of the cart;
   (E)   Rearview mirror. A rear vision mirror of sufficient size to afford a clear view to the rear of the cart while in operation.
   (F)   Parking brake. A brake of sufficient construction to prevent the cart from moving in any direction while parked;
   (G)   Seat belts. Seat belts permanently installed for every seated position in or on the cart and of sufficient construction so as to control the movement of passengers and operator while in operation. Seatbelts shall be appropriately and securely fastened to all occupants of the cart while in operation; and
   (H)   Lift kits. Golf carts with lift kits may not be more than 22 inches high measured from the ground to the floorboard.
