§ 73.99 PENALTY.
   (A)   Any person violating the motor vehicle laws of the state, which shall apply to all carts registered under this chapter, shall be subject to the penalties prescribed in state law for said violation.
   (B)   Any person violating a provision of this chapter which is not addressed by state criminal law shall be subject to the penalties prescribed by state law relating to ordinance violations. Any person who violates any provision of this chapter for which no other penalty is provided shall be, upon conviction, guilty of a misdemeanor and subject to a fine not to exceed $50 plus the costs of court. Each day that any provision of this chapter is violated shall constitute a separate offense.
   (C)   A North Carolina Uniform Traffic Citation shall be the instrument used to address violations relating to this chapter where physical arrest is not necessary.
