171.02 MUNICIPAL JUDGE; APPOINTMENT; DUTIES.
   Pursuant to the provisions of West Virginia Code 8-10-2, the Mayor shall appoint a qualified person to the office of the Municipal Judge. The Municipal Judge shall be a resident of the State of West Virginia; shall be at least thirty (30) years of age; and shall be a high school graduate.
   The Municipal Judge and Municipal Court shall have jurisdiction, exercise the powers and perform the duties specified for mayors, municipal courts and municipal judges respectively, in West Virginia Code 8-10-1 and 8-10-2 as needed. The Municipal Judge shall as soon as practical or within six (6) months of being appointed complete the training for municipal judges as offered by the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals.
