§ 150.21 NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE; ELECTRICAL OFFICIAL.
   (A)   (1)   Adoption of National Electrical Code. Pursuant to the provisions of state law, and in particular the township hereby elects to adopt by reference the National Electrical Code, 2015 Edition, and to enforce the same within the township limits.

      (2)   Administration. The Building Inspector of the township is hereby designated as the enforcing agency to discharge the responsibilities of the township under this division (A).

      (3)   Fees. Prior to the issuance of a permit required under said National Electrical Code and Public Act 230 of 1972, as amended, a fee shall be paid in accordance with the amount as determined by the Township Board by resolution from time to time.

      (4)   Registration of license.
         (a)   No person shall engage in the business of installing, altering or repairing, within the township, any electric wiring, devices or equipment for the installation, alteration or repair of which a permit is required unless such person shall have registered his or her state license, or a license issued by any other governmental agency licensing electrical contractors, with the Township Clerk.
         (b)   Such registration with the Township Clerk shall be on payment as determined by the Township Board by resolution from time to time, and shall extend for a period of one year, which shall be from July 1 until June 30, or from the date of registration until the next June 30, or until the expiration of the electrician’s license.
         (c)   No person shall be issued a permit for the installation, alteration or repair of any electric wiring, devices or equipment unless he or she is registered as required herein.

      (5)   Cost determined. The cost of the proposed electrical improvements shall be determined by the Building Inspector.

      (6)   Refund of permit fee. No permit fee shall be refunded once paid.

   (B)   (1)   Pursuant to the provision of the Michigan Electrical Code, in accordance with § 9 of Public Act 230 of 1972, being M.C.L.A. §§ 125.1501 through 125.1531 as amended, the Electrical Official of the township is hereby designated as the enforcing agency to discharge the responsibility of the township under Public Act 230 of 1972, being M.C.L.A. §§ 125.1501 through 125.1531.
      (2)   The township assumes responsibility for the administration and enforcement of said Act throughout its corporate limits.
