§ 150.20 INTERNATIONAL FIRE CODE.
   (A)   Adoption by reference. The International Fire Code, 2012 Edition, including App. Ch. A through J inclusive, as promulgated and published by the International Code Council, Inc., and any referenced National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) codes, are adopted by reference as the Fire Code of the township, and are made a part of this section as if fully set forth herein, subject to the modifications provided in this section and subject to such further modifications as the township may from time to time adopt.
   (B)   Available for public inspection. A complete copy of the International Fire Code, 2012 Edition, including Ch. A through J, and any referenced National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) codes, are available for public use, inspection and purchase at the offices of the Township Clerk.
   (C)   Definitions.
      (1)   Whenever the words “jurisdiction” or “governmental unit” are used in the International Fire Code, 2012 Edition, or in any referenced National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) codes, they shall mean the township.
      (2)   Whenever the word “state” is used in the International Fire Code, 2012 Edition, or in any referenced National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) codes, it shall mean the “State of Michigan”. Whenever the word “governing body” is used in the International Fire Code, 2012 Edition, or in any referenced National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) codes, it shall mean the Township Board.
   (D)   Amendments to Fire Code. The following sections of the International Fire Code, 2012 Edition, are revised to read as follows.
(1)   Section 101.1 shall read:
101.1 Title. These regulations shall be known as the Fire Code of the Township of Sparta, hereinafter referred to as “this code.”
(2)   Section 103.2 shall read:
103.2 Appointment. As used in this code, the term “fire code official” shall refer to the Fire Chief of the Township of Sparta, or such other individual as the Fire Chief may from time to time designate.
(3)   Section 108.1 shall read:
108.1 Board of Appeals. All appeals under this code shall be brought before the Township of Sparta Construction Board of Appeals, which Board is authorized and has jurisdiction to hear and decide appeals of orders, decisions or determinations made by the fire code official relative to the application and interpretation of this code, using the rules of procedure adopted by the Construction Board of Appeals.
(4)   Section 108.3 is deleted.
(5)   Section 109.3 shall read:
109.3 Violation Penalties. Persons who violate a provision of this code or fail to comply with any of the requirements thereof, or who erect, install, alter, repair or do work in violation of the approved construction documents or directive of the fire code official, or of a permit or certificate issued under provisions of this code, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, punishable by a fine, the amount of which shall be set by the Township from time to time, or by imprisonment not to exceed 92 days, or both such fine and imprisonment. Each day that a violation continues after due notice has been served shall be deemed a separate violation.
(6)   Section 111.4 shall read:
111.4 Failure to comply. Any person who shall continue work after having been served with a stop work order, except such work as that person is directed to perform to remove a violation or unsafe condition, shall be liable for a fine, the amount of which shall be set by the Township from time to time.
(7)   Section 113.2 shall read:
113.2 Schedule or permit fees. A fee for each permit shall be paid as required, in accordance with a schedule established from time to time by resolution of the Township Board.
(8)   Section 307 shall read:
