§ 35.20  ATTENDANCE.
    Regular attendance is important, and all employees are expected to be punctual when reporting to work. If the work schedule is unclear, ask for clarification. Employees are expected to be at work whenever scheduled. Excessive absenteeism or tardiness or other failure to comply with this policy may result in discipline, up to and including termination.
   (A)   Street and utilities.
      (1)   The normal work week shall consist of 40 hours; Tuesday thru, the following Monday. The normal workday will begin at 7:00 a.m. and end at 4:00 p.m. with one hour for lunch and a 20 minute break at 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Employees shall not work through their lunch hour except in case of an emergency, a work process that should not be started and stopped, or with permission of a supervisor;
      (2)   Employees will report to the utility office for the beginning of the workday. If you are unable to report to work, you must call the supervisor and advise as such. All employees will be out of the office and begin working no later than 7:15 a.m. unless their work requires they be at their desk.
   (B)   Police Department. Officers are scheduled on a four day on/four day off rotation. Shifts are scheduled for 12 hours per officer. Due to the alternating amount of hours worked per week some officers will physically work 48 hours per week and some will work 36 hours per week. The Marshal or Sergeant shall prepare and approve all schedules and changes to the schedule.
   (C)   Clerk-Treasurer. The Clerk-Treasurer is an elected official and establishes his/her own hours of operation. The Deputy Clerk-Treasurer works 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
   (D)   Part-time. Part time employees are normally limited to 29 hours per week and are scheduled as needed.
