In order to regulate and restrain transient salespersons, itinerant vendors of goods, wares, and merchandise of whatever nature, exhibition shows, street performances of any kind, or traveling peddlers in the incorporated town, each and every person of any of the above-named establishments or pursuits shall procure from the Clerk-Treasurer a license, for which he or she shall pay the Clerk-Treasurer the sum of $10 per day for each and every day he or she shall carry on the business or maintain the establishment.
