§ 150.22 REQUIRED EQUIPMENT FOR ROOMS OR UNITS.
   The owner or operator of any hotel or motel shall provide the following equipment in each room, and the owner or operator of any apartment building shall provide the following equipment in each dwelling unit:
   (A)   Entry doors to each room of a hotel or motel, and to each unit in an apartment building, as distinct from interior doors, shall have a fire rating in accordance with the Village Building Code, and each/shall have operable knobs, lockset, peephole device and security latch or chain;
   (B)   Instructions explaining procedures to be used in case of a fire, which shall be posted in a location where they are readily accessible and will be frequently seen by users of such rooms or dwelling units. Posting on the backside of the door of an upper kitchen cabinet, on the backside of a closet door that opens out or on the inside of a bathroom door shall be considered compliance with this requirement. The instructions must include a diagram showing the location of the room with all nearby exits;
   (C)   A bathroom which contains at least one lavatory basin and one bathtub or shower, both with hot and cold running water, one flush toilet, one electric light and one electric ventilation fan. In the case of apartment buildings, each dwelling unit shall also contain a kitchen area, having at least a sink with hot and cold running water, a cooking stove, an electric light, an electric ventilation fan and a refrigerator, all of which shall be in close proximity. Such sink, light and ventilation fan shall be provided by the owner or operator, but the owner or operator may require the tenant to supply the cooking stove or refrigerator or both;
   (D)   Ground fault circuit interrupter receptacles at any electric wall outlet in a bathroom or kitchen or at electric outlets otherwise in the same room and in close proximity to a basin or sink;
   (E)   At least one electric light connected to a wall switch, immediately adjacent to the entry door to each room of a hotel or motel and to each unit in an apartment building;
   (F)   If neither central air conditioning nor window air conditioners are provided, each room of a hotel or motel and each unit in an apartment building shall have one or more windows which can be opened and closed, each of which shall be fitted with a screen;
   (G)   Shades, draperies or blinds on each window; and
   (H)   Adequate heat, and, if the structure is equipped with central air conditioning, adequate cooling and thermostatic controls for each, in each room of a hotel or motel and in each unit of an apartment building. Portable heaters of any design shall not be utilized by an owner or operator.
