(A) For the purpose of this section, the word
CONNECTION shall be construed to be that portion of pipe between the meter and the main when applied to water lines, and that portion of pipe between the property owner's lot line and the main when applied to sewer lines.
(B) Water connections shall be kept in repair by the Town and at the expense of the Town (see § 50.031). Every leak or break in a sewer connection shall be repaired by the Town and at the expense of the Town, but every obstruction therein shall be removed by the owner or occupant of the property served by the connection at the expense of the owner or occupant, except where it is determined by the Director of Public Services or his or her agent that the stoppage was caused by tree roots from trees located on public right-of-way or other specific pipe failures or faults also located on Town property.
