Any unit of local government or school district whose territory includes part of the village, may file a petition with the Village Clerk requesting that the amount of the tax authorized by this subchapter and paid by the other unit of local government or school district to the village be rebated to such unit of local government or school district, in whole or in part. The Village Board may provide by ordinance, at its sole discretion, whether to grant such petition and, if so, the duration of the applicability of such rebate provisions.
