§ 90.51 FEES FOR IMPOUNDING AND KEEPING.
   (A)   Any dog, cat or other animal impounded may be redeemed by its owner upon payment to the village of the sum of all daily boarding fees charged to the village by the Animal Shelter for the boarding of the animal, plus $15 on the first occasion of such animal's being impounded. The fee to be paid to the village, in addition to all daily boarding fees charged to the village by the Animal Shelter for the boarding of the animal, shall increase to $25 for the second occasion, and each subsequent occasion, of such animal's being impounded. A resident of the village shall also purchase a current dog license as provided in this subchapter. If a dog does not have an effective rabies innoculation as evidenced by a current rabies tag affixed to its collar or a certificate from a veterinarian, the owner shall pay for such innoculation plus $1 penalty which shall be paid into the Kane County Rabies Fund.
   (B)   All fees and charges for impounding shall be paid to the village prior to redemption of an impounded dog. No dog shall be released by the Animal Shelter during the period of legal impoundment except by express permission by the Village Poundkeeper.
