For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
DIRECTOR.
Director of Parks and Recreation as appointed by the Village President and confirmed by the Village Board of Trustees.
OFFICIAL.
Mayor, members of the Village Board of Trustees, the Village Administrator, Chief of Police, Director of Parks and Recreation, and the employees of the village.
PARK SYSTEM.
All properties owned, leased or otherwise controlled by the Village of South Elgin.
PEACE OFFICER.
Any member of the village's Police Department.
PERMIT.
Permit secured pursuant to § 92.04 of this chapter.
REGULATION.
Any rule, resolution, regulation or ordinance duly adopted by the corporate authorities.
SMOKING
.
Inhaling, exhaling, burning, vaping, or carrying by persons of any lighted cigar, pipe, cigarette, plant or other similar combustible substance in any manner or in any form or any e-cigarette producing vapor for inhalation.
VOLUNTEER.
Any person appointed by the Director of Parks and Recreation to assist with Parks and Recreation Department functions.
