(A) There is established a Board of Zoning Appeals consisting of five members who shall serve without compensation and who shall be appointed by the Mayor and approved by a majority of the Village Commission for a term of four years, except that the term of three of the members to the Board with the most service on the Board at the enactment of this subchapter shall be for four years and the term for the remaining two members of the Board at the enactment of this subchapter shall be for two years.
(B) Each member of the Board shall be a resident of the village during his or her appointment. Vacancies shall be filled by the Mayor and the Commission within 30 days, or as soon thereafter as practicable.
