A separate and distinct permit shall be required for each improvement and shall be either typed or printed. It shall contain a specific designation of the property abutting the proposed improvement and a statement of the width and length of the proposed improvement. Such permit shall be in possession of the person actually engaged in doing the work, and shall be exhibited for inspection at any time upon demand by the village or member of the Police Division. All such permits shall have printed thereon the general rules and regulations under which the work shall be done, shall be signed by the Village Manager and shall expire 30 days after the date of issue or sooner if so indicated on the permit by the Village Manager.
