Section 20. The Village Commission shall fix by ordinance the salary or rate of compensation of all officers and employees of the village entitled to compensation and may require any officer or employee to give bond for the faithful performance of his duty, in such amounts as it may determine, and it may provide that the premium thereof shall be paid by the village.
